Talisman
Talisman are a major Oil & Gas operator whose share of UK assets is growing rapidly. The implication of this is that the pipeline team as well as providing technical and operational information on existing assets must also be in a position to rapidly provide support on these newly acquired facilities.
The solution MTEC arrived at was a very simple to use point and click system that allows users to drill down from high level maps and pipeline schematics to more detailed illustrations were individual pipeline components can be identified and selected. Once selected users have the choice to view operational or design information as well as links to drawings and other documentation.
The role of MTEC in the project was not just based on the design of the database and front end software but also in the ongoing search and identification of the underlying data to be used in the system. This involves a detailed search through Talisman document archives. The project demonstrates the reciprocal support the software and engineering business units provide for each other which puts MTEC in a unique position to successfully offer and implement solutions to problems like these.
